Delivery FAQs

How do I order?

Please order via our online shop. We need to receive your order by midday on Wednesday for delivery that Friday.

Can you deliver to me?

Our Cow & Claw can be delivered nationwide by courier.
The Weekender can be delivered locally to Surrey – please see further detail below:
The minimum order value to qualify for home delivery is £100.
We can deliver The Weekender and our Mothers’ Day Lunch to the following postcodes: GU1, GU2, GU3, GU4, GU5, GU6, GU7, GU8, GU9, GU10, GU21, GU22, GU23, GU24, GU26, GU27, GU28, GU29, GU30, GU31, GU32, GU33, GU34, GU35, KT7, KT10, KT11, KT12, KT13, KT14, KT22, KT23, KT24.
Alternatively, if you live outside of our delivery area or would like to place an order for less than £100, you can collect on Friday from our depot near Godalming, GU7 2QQ. You will be given our opening times when you select this option at the checkout.
For all local deliveries on 2nd April we are charging a small fee due to increased demand for Easter Weekend.

Can you cater for corporate virtual events?

Absolutely – and we can deliver nationwide! You can download our brochure here for inspiration.

Then contact us to discuss your requirements, as we can create bespoke menus for your specific event.

 

When and where can I collect my order from?

If you live outside of our delivery area or would like to place an order for less than £100, you can collect on Friday from our depot near Godalming, GU7 2QQ. You will be given our weekly opening times when you select this option at the checkout, but this is generally between 10am and 4pm. We do not operate a “shop” – everything is made to order each week – so please do not try and collect if you have not placed an order and received confirmation of this.

What is this week’s menu?

The menu for each weekend is finalised the Sunday beforehand. This will be emailed out via our mailing list and also shown on our website and Instagram.

 

What is the deadline for orders?

For the Weekender, we need to receive your order by 5pm on Wednesday for delivery that Friday and for Cow & Claw this is midday on the Wednesday. This gives us time to let our Butcher, Fishmonger and Greengrocer know the orders and for us to prepare your meals.

Will I have to prepare anything or does the food come hot, like a takeaway?

The meals are all prepared by our team of chefs, then hand delivered to your front door (at a safe distance of course) and heated at home by you. It comes in recyclable oven proof trays – so minimal washing up – plus simple instructions, including a timetable of when to put everything in the oven. It could not be easier!

Can I order just one of the menus?

You can order just one menu and the prices are listed on each menu each week.
For the full Weekender, you will receive both of the menus to enjoy across two evenings, which means the whole weekend of food is sorted! This works out more cost effective than ordering the meals separately.
Alternatively, you can add as many extra as required onto your main order if you are having guests over on just one of the days.
Caper & Berry are providing these meals on the understanding that the gathering is following all current government guidelines on social distancing, which can be found here.

What are the costs for different sized families?

My payment won't go through, what should I do?

Sometimes the payment page times out, but this does not mean you cannot have your food delivered! Please just email delivery@caperandberry.co.uk and we will process your order.

Can you cater for special dietary requirements or allergies?

Absolutely! We are well versed at doing this for our big events and don’t want anybody to miss out on our delicious food because of a food allergy. We will provide suitable alternatives as close to the original menu as possible. If your food allergies are more complicated, we will arrange a call to work out the best solution.

For our Mid-Week Meals, V = Vegetarian, VE = Vegan, P = Pescatarian, GF = Gluten Free, DF = Dairy Free, EF = Egg Free. Items are marked as containing nuts if the recipe includes nuts, but we cannot guarantee the absence of nuts in any of our products as we use them in our kitchens. The allergens stated on these products are subject to change, so please let us know when ordering of any allergies you have. 

 

Recycle & Re-use

All of our Weekender pots, trays and packaging are recyclable, as any plastics that have been used are PET and HDPE which are recyclable and we encourage you to do this through your household waste. If your council does not have the facility to recycle these, you are welcome to return these to us when we deliver your next order for us to recycle. Similarly, you can either re-use or recycle the delivery box yourself, or simply give it back to us when we next deliver to you and we will recycle on your behalf (we have larger bins than your ones at home!)

We have also heard that once the pots and lids have been cleaned, they make great additions to the craft drawer – perfect for home schooling art lessons – we would love to see your creations!

If your delivery was made by courier, your thermo box will have come from Wool Cool – leaders in an eco-friendly way to deliver chilled goods. We are using biofill within the boxes – which is a 100% biodegradable product. As already mentioned, any plastics that have been used are PET and HDPE which are recyclable and we encourage you to do this through your household waste.

So you are aware, at our kitchen in Godalming our electricity is provided by a 100% renewable supplier. Although it is not a glamorous subject, our food waste is separated and either composted or converted into energy which is fed back onto the national grid. All other waste is sorted externally, 98% of which is recycled.

Can I order for a weekend further in the future?

Of course! There will be a limited number of deliveries available each week – once they’re gone, they’re gone – so it is good to get your order in as early as you can. Please email delivery@caperandberry.co.uk and we can pencil you in, and then confirm your order once you have seen the menu for that week.
